If you are having a worry with your current diesel particulate filter (DPF) you’re not alone, there are a large number of people all around the UK which have been facing high dealer bills to change DPF’s that cannot be regenerated by main dealers.

www.dpf-removal.co.uk offer a viable option to completely remove the DPF at less than 50% of main dealer prices in most cases.

Whenever your vehicle gets a DPF issue, it will eventually get to a point in which the car is going into limp mode, or may not even start, until this DPF filter has been replaced or removed.

The price of DPF replacements is incredibly high, some clients reporting complete replacement fees of upto £2000 and even more.

Complete DPF REMOVAL SOFTWARE is a final solution and end to all your dpf problems.

When the worlds latest hardware/software available we can remove the DPF code from your ECU via your cars diagnostic socket (OBD) or occasionally we need to remove the ECU from your car and program on the bench. The exact method used for DPF REMOVAL would depend on a variety of factors, including your vehicles make and model.

DPF Problems Explained.

Most modern diesel engine engines have a DPF fitted. The DPF accumulates particulates of black smoke, soot, HC, along with other contaminates produced by your diesel engine.

The particulates trapped in the dpf will begin to react with O2 once at a temperature of 550°c or NO2 at 250°c. Providing the vehicle is driven at low continuous rev’s on a regular basis, and the exhaust temperature is above 250°c and the Catalyst is producing NO2 the DFF should regenerate and recover. If the vehicle is only used only for light everyday work then exhaust gases may not reach in excess of 250°c therefore the recovery procedure maybe interrupted. If this was to continue the particulates in the DPF will then begin to collect and eventually block. At this state the exhaust gas pressure would increase and the power and performance of the vehicle along with fuel consumption would decrease dramatically.

Be aware short journeys are not good for maintaing your DPF.

In most cases the owners manual provides details on how to force regenerate your DPF. Alternativly please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to point you in the right direction.

In simple terms a DPF also known as a Diesel Particulate Filter is basically a trap that is fitted in the exhaust system. Usually a few pipes and probes connected measuring pressure differential and temperature.

Most modern day diesel’s have them fitted, this is one of the reasons why you don’t see black smoke poring out of the exhaust like you used to see a few years back around town.

The plan is to work as a trap catching all the black soot produced whilst driving around town then get rid of it on long journeys. This is all well and good but whats so environmentally friendly about dumping a whole load of built up soot all at once? ‘We have yet to find out’

Often you will see driving down the motorway, what appears to be a car with a blown engine or black smoking like a train. Most likely the vehicle will be going through a regeneration process clearing out all the built up soot. Sometimes you may end up with a DPF blocked, this is often because the regeneration process (Cleaning Process) has not completed properly. In this event you may want to have the DPF removed in which case you are in touch with the right people for the job.

DPF REGENERATION

Regeneration is a process done either passively or actively.

“So what does this mean for someone who knows nothing or very little about cars or engines”

PASSIVE REGENERATION

Passive DPF regeneration is an automatic process that takes place when the exhaust temperature gets high enough for this process to take place. Usually long motorways journeys do the trick but not everyone drives on a motorway that’s why manufactures have built in an active regeneration function where the engine management computer (ECU) takes complete control of the process.

ACTIVE REGENERATION

This is when the soot level reaches approx. 45% and the ECU makes small adjustments to the fuel injection timing to increase exhaust gas temperatures to approx. 600 degrees and beyond. Usually the DPF warning light will be on at this stage. You should then drive the vehicle for around for 10-15 minutes at speeds greater than 40mph with all electrical equipment and lights turned on, so there is as much load as possible on the engine. If this process never gets complete or gets interrupted by stop start journeys the soot levels will continue to build up until around 75% then you can expect more warning lights to appear and the vehicle to limited on power by the ECU. At this point you would have to visit a main dealer or someone who specialises in DPF problems.

DPF REGENERATION NOT WORKING ?

At the point where regeneration cannot be performed you may want to contact us for advise on removing the DPF system. By doing this you can expect to see more power, no more DPF warning lights, better fuel economy and most of all a thicker wallet at the end of it.
